LINE 16: THE FINAL DIAPHRAGM WALL FOR 6401

And… three! is what could be said after the completion of the diaphragm walls for line 16’s appurtenant structure 6401.

Once again, a large-large structure with remarkable geometric characteristics is taking shape: 40m-deep, 1.50m-thick diaphragm walls. These dimensions alone generate impressive quantities of materials: 7,800m3 of excavate cut and concrete, plus 750 tonnes of steel.

There were a few issues with the structure’s 20 panels, set up in 3 months, due to a one-time lack of detailed analysis of nearby mainline train lines. The temporary shutdown of our workshop for a few days affected the regularity of our production.

Thanks to an unfailingly enthusiastic team led by the works engineer, the main works supervisor, and the worksite managers, we were able to make up for this disruption by optimising the teams, adding an extra night shift. This technical feat - the fruit of recognised expertise - is a further reference to add to the challenges successfully taken up by all the company’s teams.

Work on this structure will now be handed over to the team tasked with setting up the grout curtain.
